Senior parliamentary staff from Pacific Island parliaments were hosted by the Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives for the 3rd New Zealand Parliamentary Study Programme, held in Wellington from 12 to 23 November 2012. Read more

 

New Clerk for Cook Islands

Tupuna Rakanui has been appointed Clerk of the Cook Islands Parliament. He takes over from Nga Valoa who retired recently after working in the parliament since 1972 and as Clerk since 1998. Mr Rakanui was previously Deputy Clerk.

 

Human resource upgrade for Samoa

A human resource specialist has been engaged to work with the Samoan Legislative Assembly under the Samoa Parliamentary Support Project, funded by AusAID and coordinated by the UNDP in conjunction with Pacific Parliamentary Partnerships. Read more 

 

Strategic plan for Tuvalu

A strategic plan has been developed for the Tuvalu Parliament with support from Pacific Parliamentary Partnerships and funding from AusAID. Consultant Robert Eames from fivenines consulting, based in Melbourne, was engaged to work with the Speaker, parliamentarians and parliamentary staff of Tuvalu in preparing the plan.
